Both were opening car for the “Ronde Historique des Alpes” which is not technically a Rally as the stages are not times and there is no ranking.

Vipers have usually
been faster outright than their contemporary entry-level Ferraris. Viper is
an American sledgehammer to Ferrari’s Italian scalpel. That’s why they’re so beloved.

To be fair, i t’s probably one of the best combo (Viper without a rollcage + small road without guardrails) to push a driver to make hand placement mistakes.

He needed to chill out a bit though if that’s the case because I was nervous just watching. If you’re in a 600bhp sports car,
you probably should have a few courses under your belt and not start shuffling erratically
and doing weird hand placements when the wheel goes 1/4 turn or more... It’s indicative of going too fast for the driver even if it’s no where near the cars limit.
I’m a stickler for good technique because I’ve watched far too many brothers on motorcycles bin them from lack thereof and trying to be a hero.
It’s also not that
expensive to do up a home racing sim,
watch the YouTube for a bit of coaching
,
and ween yourself off
street habits for quick driving. Naturally,
it’s not full blown HPDE but you can at
least get some muscle memory in
correct form and practice anything
anytime
.

I’m also disturbed by the amount of excessive shuffling here. Maybe a few of the tighter corners might warrant it but certainly not most of them. Also who drives at 10 and 2?

Oh man, 1 0&2 might have been default but the hands went to every number on the clock for turns... A few phantom shifts at the start too (where he went for the stick but didn’t shift), occasional needless sawing in the corner.
For fun:
I counted 7
corners that would need hand over hand, and
most
could have
just used offset
pre-place if he knew the road. He took
his hands off for adjustments
roughly 75 times
(I lost track around 4 and half minutes
at like 65 or something
).
I’m no Senna but it distracted me all video . There was so much nervous movement to keep the hands top of the wheel no matter the wheel position.
